Royal Stewart Wreath on Flickr. The Royal Stewart Tartan is the best known tartan of the royal House of Stewart, and is also the personal tartan of Queen Elizabeth II. It comes from the “House of Stewart”, a European royal house. The Stewarts ruled much of Scotland, parts of Ireland, England and France from the 1300’s to 1600’s. While there are a large variety of Stewart tartans, the red Royal Stewart is one of the most popular in fashion today.
